Early Tritium Gloss
Case: Excellent condition 40mm holes case with thick and even lugs. Bezel retains factory brushed finish. Overall very light signs of wear. S-serial.
Dial: Excellent white tritium dial with matching hands. This early gloss lacquer dial features applied tritium hour plots, giving the surface added depth compared to later matte Polars. The tritium has aged evenly to an attractive cream tone, with excellent color consistency between dial and hands.
Bracelet: The 12 link oyster bracelet is in excellent condition and remains tight. The clasp is stamped with a T code dating it to 1995.
Accessories: None. Watch only.
Notes: An excellent example of the early tritium “Polar” Explorer II, prized by collectors for its gloss dial and applied tritium plots. A configuration sometimes referred to as “porcelain” due to its lacquered appearance. A scarce and increasingly sought-after variant of the 16570.
