Underline Dial

Case: The 36mm 18K yellow gold case is in excellent condition with strong, even lugs and light honest wear. Fitted with an early “fine-flute” fluted bezel (the more numerous, tighter flutes seen on early examples).

Dial: Excellent and rare silver doorstop underline dial with matching hands.

Strap: Fitted on a green alligator strap with a gold-tone buckle.

Notes: This is the kind of vintage Rolex detail you don’t notice until you do, and then you can’t unsee it. The underline dial is a nod to the early era and associated with the crowns early1960s changeover in luminous materials from radium to tiritum. One of those, if you know you know type details.
